What is a Naturopath?

Naturopathy is the study of Natural Health Medicine and a Naturopath is a Natural Health Practitioner, (NZSN, 2013). Here's a very dry definition from the Oxford Dictionary: "A system of alternative medicine based on the theory that diseases can be successfully treated or prevented without the use of drugs, by techniques such as control of diet, exercise, and massage." A naturopathic approach to health is holistic and provides natural solutions to treat the cause of an issue, whilst simultaneously alleviating uncomfortable symptoms.

What is a Medical Herbalist?

A medical herbalist is a practitioner highly trained in the philosophies, principles and practice of western herbal medicine and medical science, who takes a holistic view towards health and illness and who will assess you as a person not a disease. They prescribe and dispense plant medicines in a safe and effective manner, seeking to treat the underlying cause of the problems, while acknowledging the body’s innate ability to heal itself. They aim to prevent illness and restore health by providing dietary and lifestyle advice (NZAMH, 2013).

How long do we work together for?

Where are you based?

What is your cancellation policy?

I estimate that you'll need about 4 - 6 consults with me before we're ready to say goodbye - it could be more, it could be less, it depends on the individual. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like you, but I believe that any health practitioner is doing their best job when they make themselves redundant. I'm happiest when my clients are achieving their health goals on their own (with a little guidance from me).

Dunedin, however I also offer Skype/Phone consultations. I also have a monthly clinic in Timaru.

I require a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellations, or the full treatment fee will be charged. My time is valuable - just like yours :)
