Turmeric nut butter and why you want to include it in your day/week/life.

IMG_20150614_162059As you may have picked up – I enjoy combining the foods I like. Today it is nut butter and turmeric.

People are going crazy and adding Turmeric into everything, e.g. juices, salads, teas, and smoothies because it is super high in antioxidants, it is anti bacterial, and its also a liver detoxifier and also most importantly it is a lovely colour.

Nut butters are a great way of adding in some good quality fats, keeping you feeling fuller for longer (therefore stopping you eating more Whiitakers Jelly tip chocolate) and with the added benefit of Turmeric it makes a great anti inflammatory spread that you can add to pretty much everything. My current fave is adding it to eggs (sounds weird but tastes good).

To make this you will need a food processor or a super duper blender.

Recipe:

1 cup of cashew nuts

1 cup almonds

1/4 cup coconut oil

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons turmeric

Place everything into the food processor and mix for 10 minutes. Place in the fridge, it lasts for 2 weeks (try and see if it will last that long).
